Representatives from the four main political parties came together on Tuesday night (6th June) for the London Evening Standard’s General Election Hustings.

With the General Election just a day away, the event at Church House Westminster bought together Senior political party members – Greg Hands (Conservative), Emily Thornberry (Labour), Dr Vince Cable (Liberal Democrats) and Sian Berry (Green Party) – so they could pitch to an audience of the publication’s readers as to why Londoners should vote for their party.

Chaired by ITV presenter Robert Peston and hosted by the Evening Standard’s new editor George Osborne, the hustings formed part of the Evening Standard’s ongoing programme of live events, and also provided the audience with the opportunity to ask questions

The audience filled Church House Westminster’s Assembly Hall, and was made up of the publication’s readers who were selected from a large number of applications as well as commercial guests and Evening Standard journalists.
