The German National Tourist Office hosted their Germany Travel Show at Church House Westminster last month over the 9th and 10th February.

The specialist travel show was attended by over 180 travel experts offered a unique opportunity for the UK’s travel professionals to meet the heads of Germany’s leading attractions and regional tourist organisations including hotels, airlines and the world-famous Meissen Brand.

Remaining a highly popular destination for visitors, the latest statistics show that there were more than one million additional overnight stays registered in Germany by international visitors between January-November 2016. Klaus Lohmann, director of the GNTO UK and Ireland commented: “Germany means many reasons to visit. The GTS is the biggest specialist travel show for Germany of its kind.”

Germany’s leading travel specialists used the event to introduce their new products covering all types of holidays from city breaks to outdoor, nature and wildlife. Foodie-breaks, history, family and accessible travel in Germany were also prominently featured.

Following on from the first trade day, the GNTO took to the stage during an evening gala dinner to announce their winners of the ‘Germany Travel Awards’ including ‘Best Tour Operator Germany Product’ and ‘Unique Contribution to German Tourism’.
