On Friday 13 May we held our annual Tea Party. This year the event was themed around the Queen’s Birthday Celebrations and supported The Posh Club, a local charity which seeks to tackle the isolation problem for pensioners.
It has become a tradition to support a charity during our annual Tea Party and The Posh Club was the perfect fit. Based in London, this local charity stages elegant cabaret events designed to give older people on a shoestring budget an afternoon taste of the high life. Taking place in a room decorated like the Ritz in the 1930s, the club gives pensioners a classic afternoon tea with a glass of champagne and three cabaret acts for only £3.
Our General Manager, Robin Parker, comments:
“Isolation for pensioners is a rising concern and it is great to see that events such as those organised by The Posh Club are here to make a difference to people's lives. It is a wonderful charity and our team at Church House Westminster were thrilled to support them.”
The Posh Club provided some stunning vintage crockery for our Royal Tea Party, helping to make the event extra special.
Robin continues: “Instead of using our usual tea service The Posh Club provided vintage tea pots, cups, saucers and plates which they use for their own events. Our clients noticed the difference and commented on how the crockery added to the style of the event”.
Dicky Eton, Founder of The Posh Club comments: " The Posh Club were thrilled to be part of Church House Westminster Tea Party themed around the Queens's Birthday Celebrations. The generous support provided will help contribute towards the terrific work that The Posh Club does, working towards reducing isolation and creating vibrant communities."
