The percentage of event budgets being spent on AV services is increasing, according to the results of a poll we have recently carried out.
We asked our clients what was important to them when choosing AV. The poll showed that compared to two years ago 38% of event planners (up from 30% in 2013) allocate between 11% and 20% of their total event spend on audio visual equipment and services. There has also been a small but marked increase in the number of planners spending more than 30% of their budget – up from 4% in 2013 to 7% in 2015.
As a result of the increase, the percentage of event planners now spending less than 10% of total event budget on AV has dropped– 32% compared to 37% in 2013.
The survey aimed to further understand event planners requirements when it comes to technology. It was carried out amongst 87 clients – including associations, charities, public sector bodies, event organisers and corporate clients.
Robin Parker, our General Manager of commented: “The results of the poll are in line with what we have experienced over the past two years. More event planners are looking to make the most out of holding an event and this is being achieved in a number of ways. Technology to make events more interactive is being requested more frequently, with the use of video production and web streaming amongst the many services required. Integrating technology into an event is a great way of enhancing delegate experience and therefore increasing an events ROI.”
