Pain Perdu with Berry Compote and Vanilla Ice Cream
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 fresh loaf of bread
  • Cinnamon / Mixed Spice
  • Frozen Mixed Berries
  • Caster Sugar
  • Vanilla Ice Cream
  • Icing Sugar

Slice the bread to a good thickness and remove the crusts and cut in half.

Crack the eggs into a bowl and add a splash of milk and beat together.

Place the frozen berries in a pan bring to boil and turn off the heat ,add sugar to taste and leave on side to cool slightly heat a little veg oil in frying pan dip the bread into egg mixture and place in hot oil, fry till golden brown on both sides arrange on plate with a spoonful of berries and vanilla ice cream.

A good quick and easy dessert for any dinner party.
