Recipe of the month

As we are well in to the warmer months of 2010 it’s time to keep cool - try making our homemade lemonade for a thirst quenching summer drink!

Ingredients
½ pint freshly squeezed lemon juice
½ pint caster sugar
1 lemon
1 lime
Fresh mint (to garnish)
2½ pints sparkling water (more depending on strength)

Method
Slightly warm the lemon juice, then remove it from heat. Add the sugar until dissolved. Once dissolved, chill the mixture until required - this creates your lemon syrup.

To make up the lemonade, pour five parts of sparkling water to one part lemon syrup into a jug (add more of less water for your required strength).

Slice the lime and lemon, adding to mixture with your mint and ice cubes for additional flavour and garnish.
