Church House hosts Labour Party Leadership Debate
Last month Church House hosted the first Labour leadership debate. With Ed Miliband, David Miliband, Diane Abbott and Ed Balls all in attendance, the notable event took place in the Assembly Hall with over 600 press and members of parliament in attendance. It also provided the backdrop for live BBC, ITV and Channel Four news broadcasts.
“This was a huge event which kick-started the debate about the future of the Labour party. It was the first time that the candidates had a chance to debate with each other after nominations had closed” commented Samira Shackle of the New Statesman, Britain’s leading current affairs and politics magazine.
“Church House Conference Centre has always proven popular for governmental events. Our Westminster location, flexibility and security sees us host a multitude of high profile parliamentary conferences and debates each year, and as with all our events, the Labour leadership debate was a massive success,” commented Robin Parker, General Manager.
